Blue Rodeo tickets on sale this week

Tickets for the much anticipated Blue Rodeo concert sponsored by the
Rotary Club of Alliston at this year’s Alliston Potato Festival are on
sale this week.

The Rotary Club is bringing in the country/rock band for the concert
the Friday night of the festival, Aug. 7. The show will take place at
Rink 1 of the New Tecumseth Recreation Complex.

General admission tickets for the show go on sale publicly Fri.,
March 6 at a cost of $45 plus $5 convenience fee purchased locally.
Tickets can be purchased at the Customer Service Desk in Canadian Tire
on Young Street in Alliston or from any Alliston Rotarian.

Tickets bought online at are $53 – which includes
an $8 convenience fee. These tickets will be mailed out. The link for
tickets went up on the website earlier this week.

Note that this is a 19-plus age event and government photo ID will
be required to be shown to gain entrance to the concert. Only 1,500
tickets will be sold with 800 stadium seats in an alcohol free area and
the remainder on the arena floor. Standard concert fare will also be
available.

Proceeds from the event will go towards community projects sponsored by the Rotary Club of Alliston.

Rotary Club member Bill Wray said the concert wouldn’t be possible
without incredible support from the Town of New Tecumseth, especially
the Parks, Recreation and Culture department staff. He also credits the
Nottawasaga OPP and New Tecumseth Firefighters for their support.

In order to hold the concert at the recreation complex, Nu-Tek
Electric is also permanently installing electrical upgrades to the
building. These upgrades will benefit other events at the complex such
as the Alliston and District Chamber of Commerce Home Show and future
concerts at the location.

Nu-Tek Electric staff will also be on hand the day of the concert to ensure there is safe and adequate power for the event.

Blue Rodeo has been on the airwaves since their debut album in 1987.
Through the years they have made a name for themselves across Canada
and internationally.  Small Miracles in 2007 is their most recent
album, but over the years the band has released 11 studio albums and
six compilation and live albums.
